step 1 :Removing the Tailgate Latch
- Raise the trunk lid
- Remove the plastic fasteners to release the trunk lid lining
- Open the road hazard kit lid for more clearance
- Remove the three T30 screws securing the tailgate latch
- Remove the tailgate latch
- Disconnect the electrical connector
- Disconnect the tailgate latch rod

step 2 :Installing the Tailgate Latch
- Reconnect the tailgate latch rod into the latch
- Reconnect the electrical connector
- Install the latch into the tailgate
- Tighten the three T30 screws to secure the latch
- Replace the trunk lining
- Close the road hazard kit lid
- Reinstall the push pin retainers
- Close the trunk lid
