Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the bulbs as well as replace the entire taillight assembly on this 2003 Mercury Mountaineer. We show you on the passenger side but the driver side is the same procedure. The only tool you're need for this is a Phillips screwdriver.
Open your rear hatch. Then just remove these two Phillips screws. We'll fast forward as Mike does that. Just pull the taillight straight out.
Then twist your bulbs counterclockwise and remove them. To replace the bulb you just pull it out and push your new one in. If you're replacing the assembly take your new taillight assembly and twist the sockets into your new taillight. You just twist them clockwise to lock them in.
Then line up these three pins with these three holes. Just push the taillight in and straight back. We'll fast forward as Mike replaces those two Phillips screws.
