Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!

Hi everyone, Sue from and we have a Mazda 2007 6 model behind us and we have our beautiful tail lamp assembly from If you need this part or any other part, click on the link below. So today we're going to install the left rear tail lamp assembly on our Mazda. First things first, open the trunk. You can access it from inside the trunk. Right in here, this is the compartment wall. It's just hard cloth-like, so it can just be peeled back. There's no need to take all the trim out. That's an overabundance of work. We're going to have two mounting bolts. They're 10 millimeter nut, 10 millimeter socket. There's one here, and one back here. So we're going to dismount that first.

I'm going to start by disconnecting this one connector first, and pushing in the tab, pulling on. The other one is deep in there, so I'm going to get to that when I loosen the tail lamp up. Dismount my two mounting nuts. One here and the other one's up here.

Now to remove this tail lamp assembly, it's a quick push and pull. You can see the lock pin on the side. That's a little guide, goes into that loop. Has a groove cut out for it. So now with it out the open, I can actually see that last bulb connector. And I'm just going to pull down on that tab and release. Now I have my tail lamp.

So here we have the original tail lamp assembly. And our tail lamp assembly from You can see that it has the same design, same shade. The mounting screws are identical. Nice new seal. And this particular tail lamp assembly from 1A Auto comes with the bulbs in it.

Now to reinstall the tail lamp assembly, I'm going to connect the turn signal connector first. Let it click. While I'm here I might as well click in the turn signal. Now I have to guide the clip on the side of the body, the one that I showed earlier, the one with the half moon, I'm going to guide that into the body clip on the side. And the 6 millimeter studs that go through the studs that go through the body, give them a push.

Now with those in place I can put on my hold on nuts. I'm going to hand-tighten them first. The new one is going to push out a little bit because the seal sponge is thick. It hasn't been compressed yet. And the other one has been installed for so many years. So don't be too alarmed when you see that, because once you install it, you'll be squishing that mounting pad, which is a nice cushion. So there's no rattling and it seals up from the weather.

Now on this it's obviously a feel for tightening. You are dealing with plastic. So as you can see I just use a nice little 1/4 inch ratchet wrench socket I mean. And I feel it snug. Now that's in there. Seam on the outside looks really good. No rattle. Wires are out of the way. So I'm going to put the carpet wall in, underneath there. Good to go down the road. So once you've installed the tail lamp assembly, it's always a good practice to turn the lights on and make sure they work before you go down the road. You can see that turn signal works. And now I'm going to go step on the break and make sure the brake light works. Here we go. So now we're ready to go down the road. Turn the taillights, running lights on, and that lights up.
