How to Replace Tail Light 2010-17 GMC Terrain

Follow the steps in this video to replace the tail light assemblies or change the bulbs yourself

step 1 :Service the taillight bulbs
- Open the tailgate.
- Pry up the panel on the inside of the tailgate corresponding to the taillight you would like to service.
- From here you can unplug and change out the bulbs.
- Clip the plastic panel back into place or read on to change the tail light assembly.

step 2 :remove the tail light assembly
- Disconnect the wiring harness to the bulbs.
- Unbolt the five 8 mm bolts.
- Remove the tail light.
- Transfer the bulbs to the new tail light from 1A Auto.

step 3 :install the new tail light assembly
- Insert the tail light assembly into the tail gate.
- Secure the five 8 mm bolts and connect the wiring harness.
- Clip the plastic panel back into place.

In this video, we are going to show you how to service the bulbs as well as change the entire inner taillight assembly on this 2014 GMC Terrain. The only tools you'll need for this is a flat blade screwdriver and an 8mm socket and ratchet. Open up your trunk and you want to start off by removing this plastic panel right here. To service this bulb, you just twist the socket out and pull it down. The bulb pulls right out and you can push your new one into place and the socket just twists back into place.
Now to change the assembly, you're going to have to remove this harness, just push the tab and pull it free. Next, remove this series of 8mm bolts, there's two here, one here, one here and one more on the outside here. We'll fast forward as Don removes those five bolts. Once those are removed, push from the backside of the taillight and pull up and it should pull free. To service these other two bulbs, you just twist them out, bulb pulls out and push your new one in and twist back into place. This one's the same. Take your new inner taillight line it up and push it back down into place and replace those five 8mm bolts. Reconnect your harness. Then snap that plastic panel back into place. Then you are all set.
