How to Replace Tail Light 2001-06 Dodge Stratus

In this video we show you how to service the taillights on this 2004 Dodge Stratus, the same as any 2001 to 2006. This video will help you if you're just looking at changing the bulbs, or if you've had some damage to your taillight and you want to remove and replace the whole assembly. There are no tools required.

To replace a broken taillight, or to change a bulb, you want to just go in your trunk, and there's going to be a few thumb screws. One here. There's one right up here you can see, and one ... you kind of pull this back, and this back, and one right here. So I'm going to remove those three thumb screws. I'm fast forwarding here, because all I am doing is just kind of reaching in behind there, and removing those three thumb screws. Pull the light back. If you want to disconnect the light, what you can do is... if you're just looking to change bulbs, you turn the socket kind of clockwise, pull it out. The bulb pulls out, and replace it by pushing in.

And if you were looking to change to a new light from 1A Auto, you can see all the same... obviously this one's in fine shape, so I'm not going to replace it. There's a little red locking clip here. Push that out carefully with a flat blade screwdriver. And if that's out, you just press the tab here, and disconnect. Take that off. Same thing right here. Press the tab, disconnect. And then you would just transfer your harness. These pins pull out. This pulls out here, and you transfer it onto your new light. And then reinstall, and reinstall. It's pretty easy. Reconnect. This clip goes right on there. Push that locking pin. Clip back in. Make sure that harness goes back in. Guide the light. And then put your thumb screws back on.
