How to Replace Tail Light 2001-06 Chrysler Sebring

In this video, we're going to show you how to service the bulbs and/or replace the tail light assembly on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring. It's the same operation from the left side to the right side as well as model years 2004 through 2006. If you're looking to replace the tail lamp assembly, all you'll need is a new one from 1A Auto.

Go ahead and open the trunk. We're going to pull down on the carpet on the side that we're going to be replacing the tail lamp on. You can see a little plastic rivet there. Just hold that as you pull it down. Then you're going to notice a connector that we're going to remove. There's a little red tab right there at the top. You're going to have to push that in and then press the tab back in the back and then pull it out. Underneath, there are three plastic wing nuts that hold the tail light in place, I'll kind of fast forward here as we take those out. Now we can go ahead and pull the tail lamp assembly out. You'll notice that there's one more connector that we're going to have to undo. Simply push it in and pull it out.

If you're just looking to service the bulbs, twist the socket, pull the bulb straight out, and reinstall by pushing the bulb straight in and twisting the socket back into place. The same goes for this one: twist out with the socket, pull straight out with the bulb. The bulb goes back in, straight, and then twist the socket to lock it in place. With this one down here, it's actually clockwise to take it out. Pull out, push in, then it's counterclockwise to seed the socket into the housing. Then the final bulb is a twist, and pull out and push back in.

Here you can see the new part from 1A Auto, exactly the same as the factory. It's a direct replacement fit. Going back in, we're going to plug in the first connector, and then we're going to seat the assembly into the back of the body of the car. Go ahead and have that carpet out of the way, and reinstall the three plastic wing nuts. Go ahead and fast forward as I do that. Now go ahead and plug in the connector and push the little red tab back. Go ahead and put the carpet back in place.
