Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the bulbs as well as replace the entire taillight assembly on this 2005 Ford Excursion. It's the same part and similar process on these Excursions from 2000-2005, and we show you on the passenger side, but the driver's side is the same procedure. The items you'll need for this include new taillights from 1AAuto.com and a T20 Torx Driver.
Start off by removing these four T20 screws, and we'll fast forward as Don does that. Now, pull the taillight out. To service the bulbs you just twist the socket counter-clockwise, pull the bulb out, push a new one in, and twist it clockwise to lock it, and you do the same thing with this one right here. If you want to replace the entire assembly just twist out both of your sockets.
On the left is the old taillight assembly, on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and they're going to fit exactly the same. On the back of our new assembly we're just going to remove these two lower stickers because we don't have a third bulb for the top. Some of the models might. Just twist in your two sockets. Line up those two tabs and push it back into place. Then replace those four T20 screws.
