Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
To remove the engine splash shield, you're going to want to start by taking off the eight T25 bolts. They're around the sides of the splash shield. If you ever hit a pothole or any kind of big object on the highway or the road, lot of times these splash shields will snap, and you'll see then hanging down. People's first reaction is to pull and grab and just rip off the plastic, so it's not dangling. These are actually protecting a lot of things underneath your engine. They keep a lot of particles from hitting your oil pan. Depending what kind of oil pan you have it can rip the pan off rock them.
They're actually very easy to replace, it's usually just a couple of bolts. And you can have it changed out in no time. Once you remove your hardware you should be able to just pull back, pop this off.
To reinstall your engine splash shield, you're going to want to line up these tabs right here with these spaces up underneath the bumper. Take your splash shield and slide it into place and you're ready to put in your hardware. You start with the back corners, it'll hold the entire splash shield up so you can finish off the rest of the bolts without trying to hold the splash shield itself in the correct spot. Those eight T25 Torx bolts hold the splash shield in place. Awesome.
