Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace your spark plugs on this 2005 Ford Focus. We'll show you how to do one of them, but it's the same procedure for all four. The items you'll need for this is a 5/8" spark plug socket and ratchet, an 8mm socket, and a gap tool.

Your ignition coils are located right here. Each one is held in with an 8mm bolt. Start off by pushing the tab on the harness and disconnecting it. Then remove that 8mm bolt. Once that's removed the ignition coil will pull up and out. Under each ignition coil is where each spark plug is located. Using your 5/8" spark plug socket, remove the spark plug.

Now take your new spark plug, and you want to gap it using a gap tool. You just pry out and then test the gap on the tool. You want just a little bit of resistance on the right size. You want between .05 and .06. Then put your spark plug into your spark plug socket, feed it back down into place, and tighten it up. Then push your ignition coil down into place and replace that 8mm bolt and tighten it up. Then reconnect your harness and do the other three spark plugs.
