Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service and replace a rear side marker light on this 2001 Volkswagen Beetle. We show you on the passenger's side, but the driver's side is the same procedure. It's the same part and similar process on these Volkswagen Beetles from '98 to 2005.The items you'll need for this are a new rear side marker light from 1AAuto.com and a flat blade screwdriver.
Lightly pry out on the front of your rear side marker light, pull it out. To service the bulb, you just twist the socket counter-clockwise, pull it out, and the bulb pulls out. Push your new one in, and then just twist the socket back in clockwise to lock it. If you're looking to replace the whole assembly, just twist the socket out.
On the left is the old rear side marker light. On the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical, and they'll fit exactly the same. Take your new side marker light, twist the socket into place, push the back in first, and then the front, and you're all set.
