Find out how to replace the windshield washer pump on the 97-05 Chevy Venture
In this video. We'll be replacing the windshield washer pump for the rear window actually on this Chevy Venture. This pump is the same on a whole bunch of different GM, SUVs, vans, and wagons. You won't need any tools on this vehicle to replace it. Your rear wiper washer motor is located back here on the passenger side, near the passenger side of your engine, on the washer reservoir, and here's a close up.
The red arrow obviously points to the pump itself. The yellow arrow points to the hose that you have to twist and disconnect. It's pretty easy. There's electrical connection that you hold on the tab here, and then pull the connection up and out, and then this is going to leak when I do it but there's a hose right here that you twist first, then pull that out, and then you pull out on your pump, and lift that up and out. You could see, there's a lead on it right here that you tab up, then pull that off, and then down lower, probably can't see it but there's a hose that you pull off, and then you pull out on the pump, and pull it up and out.
New one, sometimes are little tight here, so you might want to just put a little bit of grease right in, and then I hooked up the actual connection up here. You're going to make sure that boot is a dust boot, make sure that goes in. Reverse procedure, basically you're putting this down into the reservoir. Put it in, and then press it back, lock at place, put your hose back up, and it should be all set. We'll do a quick test. It appears to be working properly.
