Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks!

In this video, we're going to show you rear window regulator replacements. This is a 2008 Ram 1500, same for 2002-2008 1500, 2003-2009 2500, and 3500.

Items you'll need include a new window regulator from 1AAuto.com, 10mm socket and ratchet with an extension, Phillips screwdriver, and Painters tape.

Open up your door. You'll need to remove the inside door handle. There's a 10mm bolt right in here. Remove that. As it's coming off, just pull it right out with the bolt in it. Now remove this Phillips screw. Now just lift up and off. You can bring it up and out. There's a tab right on top of your window switch harness. Pull that off. Two Phillips screws hold the speaker in place, remove them. Now pull the speaker out.

There's a wiring harness in the speaker, just press the little tab to disconnect. Two 10mm nuts hold this in place. You'll also want to un-clip here, just by pushing down and remove this mechanism.

Now you want to carefully pull. Try not to stretch or tear your water shield. Pull your water shield off. Right now, if your window motor has quit and your window is all the way in the up position, that's okay. You can actually just remove these three 10mm bolts and then you'll be able to pull your window down.

You either need to unbolt the motor, or, if your motor still works, re-plug in your switch and run your window down. Once you bring the window down, there's a 10mm nut to loosen here. Then another one right over here. Ideally you want to access this back one through this hole, but if you can't, you can just use a socket and ratchet and get to them through the door pretty easily. In order to disengage the track from the window, I'm going to remove this bolt. Again, if your window motor works and you can move the window, you'll just want to move it down a little further. That will allow your window to come down further and your track to disengage from the window.

Just be careful that your hands don't get pinched in there. Push your window back up and use the painters tape here that magically appeared. Just secure your window up. We'll put some more on there to just make it secure. Now disconnect your window motor. Pull out on the tab, push up here, and disconnect. Now remove this last 10mm nut here. The regulator should come down and out.

Our original regulator is actually in good shape, so we're going to reinstall it, just one note though, when you get your regulator, sometimes they look like they're the wrong side, but it's actually usually just because you need to change around the position of the scissor. Before you install your new one, you want to thread in these two bolts, just so they're seated.

Bring the regulator together, put it up inside, and then you can let the top go up in. Then bring the body of the regulator in and one of my bolts comes through right there. I just need to rotate it up into place. Pull these two bolts through and slide it down in. You can start these two bolts in and make sure you get this cross rail in place. Make sure that the side with the two studs is there.

We've got to turn this around, actually. Start this end nut on. Tighten up the nut and the four bolts. Pop the switch out to make it a little easier to film. Have your screwdriver pop one side. Use your screwdriver to pull it out. Reconnect your harness, and then we also have the key on, reconnect the window switch. Just run your regulator up or down until you can see this hole in the rail easily through this hole in the door. Be sure to turn your key back off while you're working. Remove the tape. Slide your window until you can get the track on, then slide it forward. Tighten up these two 10mm nuts.

Key back on. It's working well. Disconnect our switch, put our water shield back on, slip it around there, and then these little slots go in the holes. Just kind of line it up as best as you can with the way it was before. Pull your window harness through. Reinstall your ratch-activating mechanism. Put the rod in, and pull the clip up. Put on the studs. Put the two 10mm nuts back on and tighten them up. Your speaker; pull your harness lead out, reconnect and it is magnetic, so it will want to get stuck on the door. Put it in place, start your three screws and tighten them up.

Reinstall your switch. We're going to remove the door lock bezel. Just push in on these tabs and push it up and off. The two tabs on the bottom, you just kind of preliminarily line up and rest right there, and then as you bring the panel close, connect your harness.

Push your lock, locked, push the panel on, and then down into place. Unlock your door. Put the bezel back in place. Reinstall the Phillips screw that holds the panel. Reinstall your door handle. Have your wrench lined up. Basically kind of look it into place and tighten it up.
