How to Replace Rear Inner Door Handle Cable 00-07 Volvo V70

How to remove the rear interior door handle cable on 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 Volvo V70

  1. step 1 :Removing the Rear Door Panel
    • Press the center of the retaining pins in with a flat blade screwdriver
    • Pry out the retaining pins found along the perimeter of the door panel
    • Remove the Phillips screw from the door pull
    • Lift the door panel up and off
    • Pop out the door handle cable
    • Disconnect the wiring harness
  2. step 2 :Removing the Door Latch
    • Peel back the insulation with a razor blade
    • Unclip the door cable
    • Remove the three T30 bolts from the door latch
    • Unclip the outside door handle rod from the blue clip
    • Remove the T25 Torx bolt from the window guide
    • Disconnect the lock rod from the white clip
    • Remove the door latch
  3. step 3 :Removing the Door Cable
    • Pry the cable from the latch by prying the cable off and pushing up, manuevering it on top of the lock
    • Repeat for the other clip
    • Remove the cable
  4. step 4 :Installing the Door Cable
    • Line up the end of the cable with the off-set rod
    • Slide the plastic guide into place so it clicks
  5. step 5 :Installing the Door Latch
    • Insert the latch into place by moving the window guide over
    • Tighten the T30 bolts to the latch
    • Tighten the T25 bolt to the window guide
    • Clip the lock rod to the white clip
    • Clip the door handle rod to the blue clip
    • Clip in the door cable
    • Press on the insulation
  6. step 6 :Installing the Rear Door Panel
    • Connect the door handle cable
    • Lift the door panel into place
    • Clip the door panel in by pressing in the sides
    • Tighten the Phillips screw to the door pull
    • Press the retaining pins to the door panel
