step 1 :Removing the Rear Hood Struts
- Safely prop up the hood with the help of an assistant
- Pry out on the retainer on the back of the hood strut with a flat blade screwdriver
- Repeat the process on the bottom of the strut

step 2 :Installing the Rear Hood Struts
- Insert the lower end of the part over the ball socket
- Clip it into place on the top
- Repeat the process on the other side

To replace these rear struts, you're probably going to want to have somebody help you hold this, because it's very, very heavy without these struts. You can do one at a time. You're simply going to just take small flat blade screwdriver. Push this up. Slide it up. It will pull off the lock. Keep that there so you don't lose it. Pull it right off the ball stud. Do the same for the other side, just like that. It will come right off.
To reinstall it, just push it back on. Push the lock in, just like that. Back up, you might have to move this up a little bit. Push that in place. Push the lock down. There you go. The strut is replaced. You can do the same for the other side.
