Find out how to remove the dome light cover to service the bulbs with this how-to video
What's up guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. In this video I'm going to show you how to replace the dome light bulb on this 2010 Toyota RAV4. If you need parts for your vehicle, click the link in the description and head over to 1AAuto.com.
So just take a little pocket screwdriver, straight blade, and right in between the lens and the housing just prior to there, there's two little spots where you can see the color is a little bit different, so you pry those out and then the cover will slide right off. There's tabs there. They're in there. Then carefully with the screwdriver, just slide this little tab and should be able to drop the bulb right out; just like that. This bulb happens to be a DE 3175. So what you could use is some hose pliers to hold the bulb. Just gently. Do not squeeze the glass. Slide it in right there, slide this other end in, just like that. Pliers off. They also make bulb pliers you can use. We actually sell some on our website and then take the cover; slide to cover like this. These two snaps right there. Retainers right there and then snap it in up front. Then you can check to make sure it works. We're good to go.
