step 1 :Removing the Rear Hatch Bulb
- Pry out the dome light cover with a small screwdriver and trim tool
- Press the tab and disconnect the connector
- Pull out on the tab and remove the bulb

step 2 :Installing the Rear Hatch Bulb
- Press the bulb onto the cover
- Connect the connector
- Press the cover into place

Hi, everyone. Sue here from 1A Auto. Today we're working on our '03 Volvo V-70. I'm going to show you how to remove the rear cargo dome light, and replace the bulb. If you need any parts for your car, click on the link below and head on over to 1AAuto.com.
Open your tailgate, and the rear wagon cargo lamp is located right in the center of the hatch on the inner trim piece. I like to take a small screwdriver, and I'm going to use a couple of tools here. I'm going to pry it with that, but then I take my body trim piece, and I can wedge that right up in there. Then I can kindly pull it down. Then there you have the bulb access and the lamp.
To discard it, you just push down on that green tab on the connector. Then we have the lamp assembly. You have this tab out here that you can pull out on, and then I like to use a plastic tool, not my hands in case the glass breaks. Then you have your dome bulb. The marking on it for the type of it is usually on the end cap. That's where the location of the numbers would be, or you could just take this bulb to your local parts store and hand it to them.
When you get the new bulb, you can see the points on both ends, so it doesn't matter which side goes where. You're going to line it up with that hole right there. Pull on this metal tab, and just guide it in.
Now we're going to plug in the rear cargo light. Snap that in place. You can see the tabs on this. There's two little tabs by the electrical end, and then the push ups. We're going to guide it in this way, and then snap it up.
