In this video we're going to show you how to replace the rear compartment latch on this 2003 GMC Envoy XL. It's the same part and similar process on these Envoy XLs from '03 to '04 and on the regular Envoy's from 2002 to 2009. The only items you'll need for this are a new rear compartment latch from 1AAuto.com and a flat blade screwdriver.

So, on this compartment handle, you can see, by this new one, that there's little tabs here. Most likely, yours is already popped out and that's why you're replacing it.You just open it up and reach under and push on the tabs and try and push it up at the same time. Push on the tabs, pull it out.

See the new one from 1A Auto is just like the old one. It'll go in there.
