Removing the clutch fan nut can be a problem on a variety of vehicles, especially our 2002 Suburban. Here are a few methods people use to try to remove them.

An open-ended wrench on the nut hitting it with a hammer. Obviously, this isn't thick enough, but just to show you, you could use some heavy gauge wire, cable or maybe even a coat hanger through the opening inside of the fan pulley. You would then wrap the cable around this nut here, or just about anywhere else as long as you can twist it up so that when that pulley rotates it puts tension on it, and keeps it from turning. At which point, you should be able to break it loose with an adjustable wrench. The method that worked best for us was using a rubber footed C-clamp to hold the belts together and against the pulley so we could keep them from rotating while we pulled ours off with an adjustable wrench and a piece of pipe. You should be able to spin the rest off nice and easy.

There are a variety of other ways in which people have removed these fan pulleys. There are tools using air chisels and air hammers as well as people using ratchet straps and some other interesting methods. But, the best method for the job is whichever one gets it done for you.
