In this video we're going to show you how to remove and replace an A/C or radiator cooling fan on this 1997 Cadillac DeVille, same as any 94-99 DeVille. Only tools you'll need are a 10 millimeter socket with a ratchet and extension and well as a Phillips and flat blade screwdrivers. First I want to remove this plastic shield. There are 3 clips and first you turn a little screw counter-clockwise ... this one doesn't look like it ... isn't cooperating ... if you can get under there with your fingernails a little bit, get the screw to come up and out. Then the clip comes out. Then you pull up on the sides and lift that up and out of the way. Now your fan is mounted right here with a couple 10 millimeter bolts. Then you pull those hose up and out of the way and you can look down and right here is the lead. There's a little tab ... have to reach down. This little tab, you pull back and disconnect that lead. There's the connector, there's the tab.
Okay, we'll speed it up here as we remove those 2 bolts. Okay, those two bolts out. Once those bolts are out, you just want to take your hand and pull it up. Then there's a bolt and stuff that's a little stuck but eventually it comes up and out. Just watch out, this bolt will get stuck on stuff. The fan in our car is working fine so we're going to remount it. There's a tab right here at the bottom, it goes right down into a slot down there. What you do want to make sure is make sure that your harness is out of the way then feed your fan back in and you just kind of look down and watch that slot go right in. Then I'm just reaching in, find my harness, it plugs in there. Now I just start my 2 bolts on top. Okay, tighten up your bolts. Okay, put our shield back on. You can see the holes here. Press in the pins. Put those down in. Push the center in. This one's broken. It goes down, push the center in there.
