Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the power steering bottle on this 2004 Volkswagen Jetta with a 1.8T engine. The items you'll need for this are a new power steering bottle from 1AAuto.com, two locking pliers, a 10mm socket and ratchet, and a flat-blade screwdriver.

Your power steering bottle is right here with green cap. You want to pry off this harness from the stud, and then just remove this 10mm stud bolt. Now push the teeth together on this hose clamp and slide it back. Then clamp the hose with some locking pliers, and then pry the hose free. Now, pull this bracket from the power steering bottle. Then again, just push the teeth together on this hose clamp and slide it down. Then clamp onto the hose with some locking pliers. Put your finger over the other end, and then pull this hose free. Then just pull it out.

On the left is the old power steering bottle. On the right is a new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and they're going to fit exactly the same. When you're ready to lower the new bottle all the way down in place you want those two pegs to go into those two holes. You just reconnect your hose, and remove the locking pliers. Then using regular pliers, slide that hose clamp back up to the top. Push the bottle down a little further. Reconnect the other hose. Remove the locking pliers and slide that clip back up into place. Then, just replace that 10mm stud bolt and tighten that up. Push that harness clip back down onto the stud. Re-clip that harness bracket back onto the power steering bottle. Remove the cap, and replace your power steering fluid. Then just replace your cap and you're all set.
