  2. step 2 :Installing the Power Seat Switch
    • Press the switch panel into the seat trim
    • Clip the lock into the wiring harness
    • Connect the wiring harness
    • Clip in the seatbelt trim
    • Press the side seat trim onto the seat
    • Press on the switches
    • Tighten the 7mm bolt to the seat trim

Tools needed

  • Flat Blade Screwdriver

    7mm Socket

    Ratchet

Start by removing the 7mm hex head bolt that's in here. Use a socket driver or a ratchet with a socket. Unclip the seat trim from the back, pulling it loose. So you continue to pry it. Unhook the seat belt trim. Before we remove the switches that are clipped into the trim panel, we're going to use a plastic prying tool to remove the buttons. Put that aside, don't get broken.

So now I'm going to use our same plastic prying tool. If you don't have one of these, you can get it from 1aauto.com. Pry open the trim where the switch is sitting. I'm just going to keep prying at it. It's got locks on both sides. There we go.

All right, we're going to use a flat-bladed screwdriver to remove the lock and the connector. Pry it up. Take the lock all the way out. Once the lock is all the way out, you push down on the tab to remove the switch.

I'm going to install the forward-back adjustment for the seat, and the up-down seat back adjustment. It's all one switch. Clips right into the trim. Take our connector and put the lock back in. Plug it back onto the switch. Push our lock down. Our connector's locked on there.

Now we need to put the trim back onto the seat. Push your seat belt trim back in here. There's some tabs and some metal clip tabs here. This part of the plastic also hooks around the seat. Clip it in in the back, too.

So now we're going to put this little 7mm self-tapping screw back in. So the trim is now installed. It's nice and tight. We're going to put the switch knobs back onto the switch. Now the seat goes backwards, forwards, and the seat back goes up and down.
