Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace your door lock switch on this 1998 Honda Civic. The only tool that you're going to need for this is a Phillips screwdriver.
Start off by removing this Phillip screw behind the door handle. Push your door handle forward and out, and, right here, on your door handle rod, you'll see this clip. Just push that clip off and lift the rod up and out of the door handle. On this harness there's a tab on the bottom of it just push it in and pull it out. Now remove the two Phillip screws holding the switch to that metal bracket.
Pull the switch out and push it into place on your new door handle. Replace those two Phillip screws. Reconnect the harness and put the door handle rod into place in that hole and re-clip it. You want to put these hooks into those squares and then push the door handle back. Just replace that Phillips screw and you're all set.
