Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the front bumper-mounted parking light on this '99 Toyota 4Runner. It's the same as any '96 to '02. You'll need a Phillips screwdriver and a flat blade screwdriver.
To service these bumper-mounted parking lights, if you're just looking to change a bulb, you just have to come up and reach up underneath. Right here is the socket. Turn it counterclockwise and pull it out. Okay, there's the bulb. It usually pulls right out of the socket.
Put your replacement one in. Put it back in and turn it clockwise to lock. If you need to replace the entire assembly, you're going to have to remove these two Phillips screws first. We'll just speed it up here as we use a Phillips screwdriver to remove those two screws. Once you get the screws out of the clips, then the light comes right out.
Once you get these screws out, then these little clips, you see the screwdriver. Push up and out. Then push down and out and these clips come out.
The new light from 1A Auto comes with the clips already installed. Put it in place. Get one clip through and make sure both the clips are coming through. Push it in until it locks. If you have a little trouble getting it to lock in place, just take your screwdriver, press on the back of the fascia, push in, and it'll lock. Then connect that there and you're all set.
