How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a broken, worn out, or damaged camshaft position sensor on 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 Ram 1500 Truck
Hey, friends. It's Len down at 1A Auto. Today, we're going to be working on a 2016 RAM 1500. This is the big horn addition, kinda cool. We're going to be doing parking sensors in the rear bumper. It's going to be a very easy job. I want to be the guy that shows you how to do it. If you need these or any other part, you can always check into 1AAuto.com. So, here's what our sensor looks like and the connector. So we're going to go underneath the bumper, and we're going to try to find these. There's four of them.
So, I'm looking. I see one right here. Another one right here. So, that's probably the same on the other side. There's number three and number four. All right, let's do it. So, I'm going to put on my safety glasses. Here we are. There's a little squeeze tab right here. I'm going to grab it with my thumb and I'm going to squeeze it in, and I'm just going to wiggle this. There we are. We'll take a peek inside and look for funny colors. Looks nice and clean.
Next I'm going to take my pocket screwdriver or whatever you might have access to. I'm going to stick it in here, in between the adapter and the sensor. I'm just going to give it a little twist and give this one a little twist. Pop that out. You can see where the little latch pieces are. That's where I was going in between. I was just kinda coming in here and I was giving it a twist between the adapter and the sensor.
All right, so we have our parts. We've got our old piece. This right here is a parking sensor--it goes in the rear bumper. We've got our new, quality 1A Auto part. We'll just spin them around. We notice the old one has the little locking clips on there, so does the new one. We'll look inside. We can see that there's three prongs ... three prongs. It seems like it matches up exactly. Perfect, so I don't see any reason why this wouldn't be great to put in. I would feel free to install this or any other quality part from 1AAuto.com.
We've got our new parking sensor. Don't mind the dirt. Just going to come up here. We've got our two little prongs. Those fit inside these little holes. I'm going to come up and I'm going to hold the other side of the bumper, where the adapter goes through. I'm just going to push them. You hear the little click noise. There we are. Give it a little wiggle and it feels good. Grab our wiring harness. I'm going to click it in. There we are. Give it a little tug. It's not going to come out too far. All right, we'll do the same for the other three.
All right, friends--we got these in. Clean them up. Looking good. Come right across--there we go.
