step 1 :Removing the Mirror Switch
- Use a trim tool to remove the mirror switch cover
- Disconnect the mirror switch connector
- Use a flat blade screwdriver to release the switch from the cover

step 2 :Replacing the Mirror Switch
- Insert the switch into the cover and press it into place
- Reconnect the switch connector
- Line up the two switch cover tabs and press the cover back into place

What's up, guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. In this video, I'm going to show you how to remove and reinstall a mirror switch in this 2012 Ford Escape. If you need parts for your vehicle, click the link in the description, and head over to 1aauto.com.
All right, we're going to remove this cover right here. This is for the switch for the mirrors. And I'm just going to use a trim tool to go behind here. Pop this out, just like that. To disconnect the mirror switch, just push down right here. Slide that out.
To get this mirror switch out of this trim piece, just take a straight-blade screwdriver. There's a little lock right there, just gonna use a little bit of pressure, and push it through. If you have to, you can get on the back side of it over here as well. Push it up while you apply pressure. Push it through, pull it out.
Now take the mirror switch. I'm just going to slide it in just like this. And then push it straight down. You might have to twist it a little bit. There's a little tab on the bottom that's gotta get lined up. Get that tab lined up, and then lock it in place.
Now I'll take the electrical connector, get this lined up. Lock that down, and then line these two tabs up, retainers. You might have to pull this out a little bit, right there. Lock it in place.
