How to Replace MAP Sensor 2014-19 Chevy Silverado

Removing the intake air duct is not a necessary step to this installation. It is done for camera angles in this video. Instructions are included for continuity with the video.
step 1 :Removing the Intake Air Duct
- Disconnect the negative battery cable with a 10 mm socket
- Loosen the worm clamp where the air duct connects to the air filter box
- Loosen the worm clamp where the air duct connects to the throttle body
- Disconnect the air hose at the driver side rear corner of the duct box
- Disconnect the air hose at the passenger side rear corner of the duct box
- Remove the intake air duct by sliding its rubber boots off the air box and throttle body connections

step 2 :Removing the MAP sensor
- If you skipped step 1, disconnect the negative battery cable with a 10 mm socket
- The MAP sensor is located to the driver side of the throttle body.
- Remove the 10 mm screw securing the MAP sensor
- Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector
- Twist and pull the MAP sensor to remove it

step 3 :Installing the MAP Sensor
- Slide the MAP Sensor into position
- Replace the 10 mm screw securing the MAP sensor
- Torque the 10 mm screw to 40 in-lb
- Reconnect the map sensor electrical connector

step 4 :Replacing the Intake Air Duct
- Lower the intake air duct into position
- There is a bracket on the passenger side corner that it rests on
- Connect the air duct boots to the air box and the throttle body
- Tighten the worm clamps at the air box and throttle body
- Reconnect the air hose at each corner of the air duct box
- Reconnect the negative battery cable and tighten it with a 10 mm socket

What's up, guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. In this video, I'm going to show you how to replace a manifold air pressure sensor, also called a MAP sensor, on this 2015 Chevy Silverado.

I'm going to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. I'm going to use a 10 millimeter socket, extension, and ratchet. Loosen this up. Grab the negative terminal, slide it off, set it aside so it doesn't arc out by accident. Loosen up this worm clamp right here. Also over here is a worm clamp back here in the throttle body. Loosen this one up with the same straight blade screwdriver. I'll take this snorkel off this side, off the air box, and then over here, there's two pipes on each side. There's this little gray lock that you have to push down on the lock and then slide it out. Just like that. You have to do the same on the other side.
This one I'm pushing up from underneath and then slide it up. And I can grab this and just slide it back. Wiggle it a little bit, and the whole thing comes up. You don't have to take this air duct off to do this MAP sensor, but for the camera shot, it's easier to see. I'm going to take a 10 millimeter socket and loosen up this bolt. Take this bolt out. There's a lock on the back of this connector. Just take a screwdriver and get in behind the lock. Pry it sideways. Just like that and push down on the terminal, on the connector, and slide it out. Now we can grab the MAP sensor. Twist it and pull it out.
Take the MAP sensor--just make sure it's cleaned off if there's any dirt on there. Looks good. Can slide it into position, push it down. Take this screw, the bolt, get this started. My 10 millimeter socket, extension, and ratchet and we'll tighten this down. Then going to take a 10 millimeter socket, extension, and a torque wrench. I'm going torque this to 40 inch pounds. Take the connector, line it up, lock it in place, and then lock the connector lock.
Then we're going to slide this into position. There is a little bracket right here that's going to slide into that slot right there. So slide it on the mass on the throttle body first, get that lined up there. Then we can take and slide this on right here onto the air box. That's good. I'm going to take a straight blade screwdriver. Tighten up this worm clamp here on the throttle body, and then tighten this one up as well. Then I'll take these hoses, these are going to clip in. Make sure they lock in place, and the same on this side.
Take the negative battery cable and hook it up to the negative side of the battery. I'm going to take a 10 millimeter socket, extension, and ratchet and just snug this up. Grab the cable, and just make sure it's nice and tight so it won't loosen up.
