How to replace a broken, damaged or burnt out license plate bulb to the 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 Chevy Monte Carlo.

step 1 :Removing the License Plate Light
- Remove the two 7mm bolts halfway from the license plate light
- Pull the license plate light down

step 2 :Servicing the License Plate Light
- Twist the socket out counterclockwise
- Pull the bulb free
- Push the new bulb in

step 3 :Installing the New License Plate Light
- Twist the socket clockwise into the assembly
- Replace the 7mm bolts
- Slide the assembly back into place
- Tighten the 7mm bolts

In this video, we're going to show you how to service (as well as replace) the entire license place light assembly on this 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo. The only items you'll need for this include a new license plate light from 1AAuto.com, a 7mm socket, and a ratchet.
Your license plate light is right here, and it's held in with two 7mm bolts. Just go ahead and loosen those up. You only need to loosen them about half way, and then the license plate light will pull down. To service the bulb, just twist the socket out counterclockwise, pull the bulb free, and push your new bulb in. If you're looking to replace the entire assembly we have them at 1AAuto.com, and you can see they're identical and they'll fit exactly the same.
You will have to swap over your bolts, however, and in our case we don't have the option of doing that because of the condition our bolts are in. You may need to find new screws. Otherwise, just swap your bolts over. Twist your socket clockwise into the assembly and then replace your bolts. Slide the assembly forward, back into place, and then tighten up your bolts.
