How to replace a broken, damaged or burnt out license plate bulb to the 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 Volkswagen GTI

step 1 :Removing the License Plate Bulb Assembly
- Push in the tab and pull out the light assembly
- Twist counterclockwise to detach the cover

step 2 :Replacing the Bulb
- Pull straight down the bulb
- Line up the new bulb and press it in

step 3 :Reinstalling the License Plate Bulb Assembly
- Reattach the lens by twisting it clockwise until it clicks
- Reinstall the assembly into the hole and press in until it clicks into place

We're going to replace the plate light bulbs. There's a little tab right here, you're going to use your finger. Push in on the tab, and then this slides down. You can pull this out. You can twist right here. You're going to take the light bulb with you hand, pull straight down.
To reinstall, you're going to line the light bulb up, push in. Take the lens, put back in, screw to the right to tighten. You're going to push up, lock it in place.
