How to Replace Intake Duct 2006-10 Ford Explorer

How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a cracked, leaking or warped engine air intake duct on 06 Ford Explorer

  1. step 1 :Removing the Intake Duct
    • Loosen the hose clamp on the air box side with a flat blade screwdriver
    • Press the green tab and disconnect the breather line
    • Loosen the hose clamp on the throttle body side with a flat blade screwdriver
    • Remove the intake duct
  2. step 2 :Installing the Intake Duct
    • Insert the intake duct into place
    • Tighten the hose clamp on the throttle body side with a flat blade screwdriver
    • Tighten the hose clamp on the air box side with a flat blade screwdriver
    • Connect the breather line

Here are the items you'll need for this repair: flat blade screwdriver

Loosen the clamp on the air box side of the intake duct with a flat blade screwdriver. You'll then want to disconnect the breather lines. There's a little green tab here that you just pull back, and pop them off. You'll then need to undo the clamp on the throttle body. You'll then want to remove the intake duct.

Reinstall the intake duct, and pop on the two breather connections. Then tighten it down with a flat blade screwdriver.
