Hi, my name is Mike Green. I want to help save time and money repairing your vehicle. I have 20 plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks. My company, 1AAuto sells high quality replacement parts over the internet. In this video I'll be showing you how to install these pars. By the end of this video, you'll know how to install them and where to get them. That's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.

In this video, we'll be installing an interior door handle on a 2004 GMC Sierra. This process is basically the same as all 1999 to 2006 Sierras, Yukons, Tahoes, Silverados, GM Trucks in general. For this repair, you'll need a medium size flat blade screwdriver, a pair of needle nose pliers, seven millimeter socket and driver, Torx driver small, and a ten millimeter socket and driver.

We're going to do a quick run through of taking the door panel off. We do have a more involved video in our other videos, but this will show you basically what it takes to remove the door panel. First, you remove the lock plate, use the screwdriver, pry gently, and then up top that's the mirror trim plate, two clips. Again, screwdriver. I used a rag to protect the paint, make sure it didn't scratch. Then, the door handle trim plate, which is just a screwdriver on the back side, then it comes off. Then, there's a small push pin, plastic push spin. Start it with a screwdriver, and then needle nose pliers to pull it out. After that, there's going to be three screws, that's the little trim plate and then a Torx screw and you'll see me really move here. Next one is right near the lock right here. Close up. Again, you'll see me turning it on.

Okay, and then one more down below the door pull. I do quick work. I'll say that. Then, I lift up and then door panel comes out. You got to unplug a bunch of accessories, that's the marker light on the back corner. Then, the power windows, power door locks and mirror control panel. Most of them just kind of push out in a little tab with your thumb and pull out. The third one here, you push in a tab, and then you rotate this little gray bar. This is the underside of it. There you go, and then, I'm struggling with it in real time there, or double time real time, then the last one, and your speaker. Once that free, then your door panel is free and we can slow it back down here. Let's see now, there's a door handle right on top of the water shield.

Now, you just remove that ten millimeter. First, we'll remove that blue clip that holds the lock actuating rod. Just kind of prior with the screwdriver to start it, and then you can pull it with your finger then the ten millimeter bolt. Once that's out, then the door handle just slides forward. Pretty neat design, comes right off. You can service it or replace it. We sell the replacements, 1AAuto.com. Then slide the new one in, or in this case it's the same one. We're just showing it to you. Ten millimeter bolt, and make sure that you replace that clip, and you're all set. Put the door panel back together and you're good to go.
