Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks!
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace an ignition coil on this 2002 Ford Escape. It's the same part and similar process on these Escapes from 2001 to 2004. The items you'll need for this are a new ignition coil from 1AAuto.com, T25 Torx driver or a bit and ratchet, and a flat blade screwdriver.
Pry out on the tabs on either side of the harness by pulling it and the harness will pull free. Then remove these four T25 bolts. This one's right here right into this harness. We'll just fast-forward as Mike removes each of those.
Take your new ignition coil and pull each of the wires off of the old ignition coil and push them into the same spots on the new ignition coil. Now lift your old ignition coil up and out. If any of the wires popped off while you were doing that just make sure they go in the same spots, and then feed your bolts through the holes on the ignition coil.
Then just lower it back down into place, tighten those up, and replace the other two. Then reconnect the harness, and make sure that all your spark plug wires are pushed all the way down into place. You're all set.
