In this video we're going to show you how to remove and put back on the hood support struts on this 2000 Lincoln Town Car. It is an easy process. You just need something or someone to help support the hood, and a small flat-blade screwdriver. In this video, on this car, the struts are actually in good shape, so we just remove them and put them back on to show you how to do it.
If you've got a sagging hood then you probably have a use for a Swiffer or mop like this. Make sure you have either your Swiffer in place or an assistant. What you want to do is, there are little clips that hold these on and you just use a small screwdriver, pry up on the clips, and it's the same thing over here. With a screwdriver, pry out on the clip and it comes off.
These are actually in okay shape. New ones from 1A Auto are going to go on there, mount on there, exactly the same. Just make sure your clips are down, and all they do is pop right on. You might have to push up on the hood a little bit. It's reinstalled. Now you can remove your Swiffer and it stays in place.
