Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!

We're going to show you how to replace hood strut. You're going to want to have a helper hold the hood for you, and I'm going to take a 90 degree pick and slide it in here. Pull that retainer off. Just pull it out a little bit. Then we're going to do the same for right here. Slide it in there and pull it out. Then you can release it. And there's the hood strut.

To reinstall the hood strut, I'm going to slide this right over the ball socket, right there until it clicks in place. I'm going to do the same right here. You may have to the hood up or down. Lock it in place.
