How to repair, install, fix, change or replace broken, weak or sagging hood support struts on Cadillac CTS, years 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, and 10.

step 1 :Removing the Hood Support
- Support the hood with a piece of wood or have an assistant support the hood
- Pry off the clip at the top of the hood support with a flat blade screwdriver
- Pry off the clip at the bottom of the hood support with a flat blade screwdriver
- Pull off the top of the hood support
- Pull off the bottom of the hood support

step 2 :Installing the New Hood Support
- Pry out the clips with a flat blade screwdriver
- Push the bottom of the hood strut into place
- Push the top of the hood strut into place
- Push the clips in with a flat blade screwdriver

In this video, we show you how to replace a hood support on this 2005 Cadillac CTS. The only tool you'll need for this is a flat blade screwdriver.
At the top of your hood support, you can see this clip right here. There's another one down at the bottom. All you do to remove this is pry out on that clip, and make sure you have someone supporting the hood. You pry out on the clip, and you just pull out and it'll come right off.
Now take your new hood support, pry out the clip so that it's open, push it into place, and let the clip push back in, and do the same thing with the top one. You're all set.
