How to replace the hood prop rod on 09 Honda CR-V

  1. step 1 :Removing the Prop Rod
    • Remove the prop rod from the hood
    • Use rust penetrant if necessary
    • Pull the bottom of the rod through hits plastic retainer
  2. step 2 :Reinstalling the Prop Rod
    • Reinstall the rod through the retainer
    • Reinstall the rod on the hood

So in this design the hood prop is actually on the radiator support, as you can see it goes through here then up to the hood.

We're going to start by lifting it up and then weaseling this through. You're going to guide it in, and there we go, and I've got to let the hood down for that original spot, and we're set.
