Hi. I'm Mike from 1AAuto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years!

By the driver's side, to get to the high beam bulb, we're going to go to the back of the headlight. It's right here. Push in on the lock and pull the connector down. Sometimes you have to get two hands in here: one hand to push the lock, the other hand to wiggle the connector off. To unlock the bulb, turn it counter clock wise and pull it out. It's a 9005 bulb.

This one's working so we're going to put it back in. You should always wear gloves when you're handling headlight bulbs. You don't want to inadvertently touch the bulb glass, the oils in your skin will reduce the life of the bulb. Even though this one doesn't look so great, it is working so we're going to leave it alone. Slide it back in the opening, line up the little ears, turn it clockwise, it'll lock in place, hook the connector back on, and that bulb was changed.

Low beam bulb is here on the outside, follow this to the back of the headlight. It's a little bit tighter in here by the battery. You have to reach in. It might be easier to reach in so I'm going around the neck of the washer fluid. I'm going to actually unlock this one first before I unclip it. This is why you want to wear gloves because you'll probably inadvertently touch the bulb especially when you're installing it. Now, I'm going to unplug it, now that I can get to it. I'm going to try to do this one-handed. Push down on the lock and pull out, just like that.

This is a H11 bulb. Especially with the way this is one is really awkward to get to, you're probably going to end up touching the bulb so you definitely want to be wearing gloves. Slide it back into place and I can plug it in after I lock it in but there's little tabs. I'm gonna find those, line them up, slide them in place and turn it clockwise to lock it. It's locked in. Clip it back into place and that bulb is changed.

Remove the intake duct. Start by unscrewing these with a flat bladed screw driver. You may need to hold the clip so it doesn't spin, get it kind of popped up, and then pry it up. It should come right out. Do the same for both, so if it spins like that, just hold that, let it unscrew, pull it up, and pry it out. Lift the air duct right up and out. It just slides right out of the air box. Put this aside.

On the passenger side, the high beam bulb is on the inside. Push in on the lock, pull it down. This is similar to the driver's side ā€“ this is exactly the same as the driver's side. These connectors can get stuck so sometimes if you push them in a little bit, and then push the lock to release it, you can push it off. Worst case, you can unlock the bulb by turning it counter clockwise, take it out and you want to be wearing gloves in case you touch the glass by accident and you probably are. Push in on this, try to unlock it, and pull it apart. Sometimes it's easier to have the bulb out. This is a 9005 bulb. It's working so we're going to reuse it. Put it back inside the housing and line up these ears. Turn it clockwise to lock it, reconnect the connector. It will click when it's locked in place.

We're going to remove the low beam bulb, which is further on the inside here. I'm going to unlock it first. Turn it counter clockwise. I'm going to reach in and push the lock at the same time. One hand to pull the bulb out. This is an H11 bulb. To reinstall it, put it back in place. Line up the little ears, turn it clockwise and plug this in. Get it lined up here, you can do this in whatever order is easiest to get it done. I'm going to click it in first, put the bulb in the housing. Something's getting caught on the sheet metal of the body. Get it in place, it will click when it's locked in place.

The turn signal bulbs, the two side marker bulbs are buried up here in the fender, same as the driver's side, you're going to have to remove the fender wheel liner to get up in there. We're going to show you on the driver's side but the passenger side will be identical.

We're going to push the air duct back in the air filter, back in the air box. It just pushes right into place. Line up the holes, get the clips pushed in, push those down, and the air duct is back in place.

To get to the marker lights and the turn signal bulb that's on this side of the head lamp, it will be the same for both sides. We turn the wheel in so it gives me more access to get to this fender liner. If you're doing the passenger side, just turn it the opposite way. There are a couple of push clips holding in this fender liner. This one is like a ā€“ it's got like a barbed clip, so just use a flat bladed screw driver, pry it up a little bit, and you've got a clip tool in here. Just gently pry it out.

They may break and that's fine. You don't entirely need it. You can get a new one afterwards or you can have a new one on hand first. Just push it through. I'm going to pop this one out with a flat bladed screw driver. I'm going to pop this one out the same way.

I'm going to take our fender liner. The bumper would actually come out a little bit from the clips. It may sound like you're going to break it but, you're just unclipping it. It just pops out. And we're going to just pull this out a little bit. Pull this down, there's a metal tab that this is going to pop up and over. Just hold the top part of it. I just want to get this down enough and I can just reach in there and get to the marker lights.

If you reach up and in here, there's some bracketry, but the back of the socket, that is the turn signal on the large one. The two marker lights are above it. I'm going to reach in and I'm looking where ā€“ grab the turn signal and I'm going to pull that one out. The socket's going to stay in there. I'm going to have to one handed unclip the bulb, I'll slide it out.

This is a W21W. It's an amber bulb. It just slides into the socket and then pulls right out to change it. You probably want to wear some gloves for this because you are definitely going to touch the bulb as you're installing it. It's not as big a deal with turn signal bulbs but you might as well. You're going to reach in. This is the hard part. Iā€™m just trying to line it up into the socket. You kind of have to do it by feel. You can sort of see in there without any light. You put the bulb in the socket. It will click into place and then I'm going to go up, find the opening, fiddle around with it, amd it will slide over the locks and turn it clockwise to lock it in place.

The marker light and the running light bulb are at the very top. There are two sockets. I'm going to reach up. I'm going to start with the marker light bulb. It's the lower one. Just turn it counter clockwise to unlock it. It takes a bit of strength to get it out and again, just kind of, with your hands pull the bulb out of the socket. It'll slide straight out. The socket will stay there. There we have it.

It's a little 194 peanut bulb. This one's working so you'll put it back in. Slide it right back in, reach up put it back into the opening in the headlight. Turn it clockwise to lock it. Then I'm going to reach up just past it and get to the top one. To get to the top most one, that's sort of a running light bulb, I'm going to push the fender liner over more. I've also removed the marker light bulb to get it out of my way. I need to reach up in here and grab my fingers on it, just my fingertips, and just turn it counterclockwise so it'll unlock. Pull the bulb down and pull it straight out. This is also a little 194 peanut bulb. In the same way, it will go right back into the socket. Put it right back in. Put it up into the head lamp. Turn it clockwise to lock it and then put the other one back in that you moved. Turn that one clockwise to lock it.

To put our fender liner back in place, move the bumper out a little bit, feed the fender liner behind the bumper. With the fender liner back up, this is going on the other side of that metal trim. The metal tab that's on the fender, that's what holds it up. Replace all the clips. Put these in here. I have a new barbed clip to go in here to hold the bumper on. The clips are back in, fender well is back, and that's how you change the bulbs.

Ticking Clicking Noise Coming From Your Engine Diagnosing Collapsed Lifters

Andy diagnoses a top end clicking ticking noise in our Chevy Avalanche! Andy locates the clicking noise to the top driver side of the 5.3L V8 engine, and discovers an intermittent misfire in cylinder 1. After removing the valve cover, he finds a very loose rocker, the source of our noise. He determines the rocker is loose because its lifter has collapsed, meaning it's not pushing up on the rocker when activated by the camshaft. The fault is in the AFM (active fuel management) lifter.
