How to Replace Headlights 2000-05 Buick LeSabre

step 1 :Servicing the Bulbs
- Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise out of the light
- Pull the bulb off of the socket
- Push on the new bulb
- Twist the bulb socket clockwise into the light

step 2 :Removing the Headlight
- Remove the two 10mm bolts from the headlight
- Pull the headlight forward
- Disconnect the headlight wiring harness
- Pull the headlight out

step 3 :Installing the Headlight
- Twist the bulbs counterclockwise out of the old headlight
- Unclip the lightbulb wiring harnesses using a flat blade screwdriver
- Twist the headlight bulbs clockwise into the new headlight
- Clip the headlight wiring harnesses into the new headlight
- Remove the old headlight grommet if necessary
- Remove the packing material from the headlight
- Connect the headlight wiring harness
- Push the headlight into place
- Insert the two 10mm bolts into the headlight

In this video were going to show you headlight replacement, both replacing the bulbs and replacing the entire assemblies, on this 2003 Buick LeSabre, same as any 2000 to 2005 LaSabre. The only tools you'll need are a 10mm socket and ratchet and extension as well as a flat blade screwdriver.
If you're just looking to replace headlights, then it's pretty easy. Right back here are your bulbs. Twist them counter clockwise and pull them out. Once you have the bulb out use your thumb, pull back on that tab and the bulb comes out. Reinstall is just a reverse of the procedure. Get that one. This one's a little more difficult to get to, but not impossible, and it's the same thing on the other side.
If you want to remove and replace your headlight, there are two 10mm bolts you need to remove: one here and then one right through there. I'll just speed it up here as I take out those two bolts. I've got a connector here. Pull out this tension pin, pull it back and pull your headlights out.
The new headlight from 1A Auto is the exact same as the old headlight just nicer, prettier, and shiner. On the back here we need to transfer this harness over. This side marker, twist out, pull out. On this plug there's a little tab here; use your finger or a screw driver. I've got these three tabs here. Just use a screw driver, pull them right up. That allows you to work on this harness, so you push down with your thumb, pull the tabs out with your thumb and push on the connector. Disconnect it and pull that harness right out.
On the new light, connect the high beam, put these in, and put our tabs back in to hold. Plug in our low beam here and slip on that connector. Put in and change the bulb here. Put that in. You can see on the back here is a little plastic grommet; the new one comes with a grommet. We can either pull it out of the fender or just take the new one off like that. I'm going to pull back some of this plastic. Plug our connector back in, put in this safety, peel off our plastic, and put it back in. Get that ball lined up with the socket and push it right in.
Now the long screw goes right in here. Push down nice and firm. Put our shorter screw right here. Well speed it up again as we tighten up those bolts. You want them firm; they don't have to be overly tight, though. With that you can take your old headlight and go from this to a nice new headlight like that. It takes years and miles off your vehicle.
