How to Replace Headlight 1998-2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue

In this video, we are going to replace show you headlight replacement, both replacing the entire assembly. We are just replacing the bulbs on this 99 Intrigue, same as any 98 to 03 Intrigue. You don't need any tools to perform this operation.

Okay, now you can see this picture here. That is, even though it looks like it because of the crease down the hood of the vehicle, it looks like it's actually a doctored photo. It's not. The driver's side, which is the right side as we are looking at it, has a new headlight on it, and the passenger side has the old headlight on it, and you can see how much nicer those new headlights look. If you're looking at this video just to replace a bulb, consider a replacement set of headlights because you will see much better at night with the new ones.

Change your headlight assembly or the bulbs, pretty easy. There is 2 clips. Pull them up and off, up and off. The light comes right out. Okay, right back here, there is a clip. Pull up on this tab. Disconnect. Okay, if you are just looking to replace bulbs, these rubber covers come off. Twist the bulb counterclockwise. Pull it out. Okay. Disconnect it. Reconnect it. Put it in clockwise; same thing for the low beam here. Okay, these ones here Let's put that back on. This one here, it's just a small marker light. Twist it counterclockwise. Pull it out. This bulb just pulls right out. Okay, and then this bulb up here just like the other ones twist it. This bulb will pull right out of the socket. It's just a matter of winding them up properly to get them back in. Let's see. Twist clockwise. Put your boot back on.

Okay, new headlight from 1A Auto Okay, you can see a whole lot more clear. It's going to help you see better at night. Just take that old one out. The one from 1A is going to go right in. Reconnect our harness. It plugs right in. Put it back in. Make sure it's all the way back. Put one clip in, and the other clip in.

Okay, if you want to aim the headlight, this here; you need an E8 Torx star bit. This one here aims it up and down, and this one here goes left and right, and you basically want to set it so that the low beams point straight ahead and are 1 inch down at 20 feet away, and the high beams obviously point straight ahead and are level. You would measure from the ground to the level of the headlight bulb, and that's where you want to see the concentration of the beam. Like I said, at 20 feet away on a level surface, the high beams you want to see level, and the low beams you want to see 1 inch lower than the height of the bulb.
