In this video we're going to show you how to replace a hatch glass piston on this 2003 Mercury Mountaineer. We show you on the passenger side, but the driver side is the same procedure. The only tool that you'll need for this is a flat blade screwdriver.
Open up your lift gate. Then to remove these, you just pry up these clips, and then pull the piston from the stud. Do the same thing down here. Then the piston pulls free.
Take your new piston and just push it into place. Then you can close your hatch, and you're all set.
