In this video, we're going to be working with our 2001 Ford Ranger. We're going to show you how to remove and replace your overhead grab handle that's up on the ceiling in this truck on the passenger side. You may have one on the driver's side, and if that's the case this procedure will be exactly the same.

Here are the items you'll need for this repair: flat blade screwdriver, 5.5mm socket, ratchet, socket extension
Remove the covers one each side of the grab handle with a small flat-blade screwdriver. They're just rubber, so you just have to get behind there and push in a little bit. You can pop them right out.
Take a 5.5 millimeter socket, ratchet, and extension, and remove the two screws up inside the handle.
Reinstall the handle over the openings. Reinstall your two 5.5 millimeter screws. You may want to start one part way just to secure the handle up there, and then install the opposite side to make sure everything lines up nicely.
Once the handle and the screws are installed, reinstall the covers. You can see that these are tapered, so this side will sit in there. Once you've popped both of your caps back in, double check that your grab handle is on there nice and secure, and you're good to go.
