Check out this video to learn how to replace the gas cap on your 00-07 Volvo V70. It's a common cause to check engine lights. 1A Auto shows you how!
Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years.
Sue: Hey, everyone. Sue here at 1A Auto, and today we have the '03 Volvo V70 in the shop. I'm going to show you how to replace your gas cap. This gas cap came from 1A Auto and it is an OE gas cap, which I state is kind of important. Nowadays, we get a lot of codes for ... The engine light comes on, it says small evap leak. Some cars actually say gas cap leaking.
A simple replacement. We're going to open the door. On this Volvo it's just quick lift up on that tab and turn it counter clockwise. Take your gas cap off. Now we can see the gasket is worn. It has got some greenish to it so that the metal from the filler neck is wearing it down. It's flattened out and the spring in there could be a weak. No way of testing it, so we're just going to install the new gas cap. Let it click. Then you're going to take your string, loop it right here ... and you're ready to roll.
