Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and reinstall a front grille on this 2003 Honda Civic, pretty much the same for any '01 to '05 Civic. The tools you'll need for this job are the same as the tools you'll need for a front bumper cover: flat blade screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, 8mm socket and ratchet or wrench, some pliers and a hammer.

Start in the front and remove four clips. What you do, is just pry up on the center clip here and do it from a couple of different angles. Once you get that up, the center pulls out and the clip pulls out. We'll speed up the film, here, as I just take those last two clips out. Up underneath, it's the same thing. My vehicle does have a couple of Phillips screws here but I don't think these are original so they may either be Phillips screws or some other type of fastener. One on each side. Then there are clips just like the top side. These are usually a little more difficult because they usually have all kinds of sand lodged in them. I'm actually going to speed it up here, like I said, they're the same thing you do on the top. You pull the center of the clip out and then pull the clip itself out. Again on the bottom, they get all kinds of sand lodged into them and you'll see me fighting with them and even using a hammer. Basically what you can do is once . you'll probably get two or three of them out but the other ones you might break the edges of the center off. If you end up breaking them off, then you can use a hammer and screwdriver and actually just push the center right through. You won't be able to reuse the clip but at least you can get it out. Generally, if you have two or three clips for the bottom, you can put them back together. Obviously it's always best to use the number of clips that the factory provided and you can actually buy . usually a hardware store has these clips in stock, you just have to look through their hardware and they have a similar type of clip. They are usually only a few cents each. On each side, there's an 8mm bolt right up here, over the front wheel. Now take and pull out on the side. Do the other side. Pull out from the headlight and pull and usually it comes right out.

To get this off, first, you have some clips just like the fascia, but the nice thing about these you can access the bottom so you can just use a hammer and knock them right out. Then use a Phillips screwdriver. Do these two screws. I have my grille out. Now the grille on this car is actually fine. It is missing the little Honda emblem, but it's in fine shape, so I'm going to reinstall it. A new grille doesn't come with this piece obviously so you would just remove these Phillips screws, take this piece off, put it on your new grille and then reinstall it.

Reinstallation is pretty easy. Take these screws out for right now. Put this back in place, put the grille down and it does slide back into the little channel here. You slide it in, make sure it's in on the other side then you can hold it, take one of your clips, put it through first, and lock it in. Take another clip, put it through here and lock it in. I'm just going to speed it up here as I put the two Phillips screws back in and then tighten them up nice and firm and then install the last two clips that hold the bottom of the grille to the fascia.

Just make sure you feed it underneath the headlights. I've got a couple of my clips here. Make sure it's underneath, just go underneath your handle there. I'm just going to put this up, put one of these clips in place just to kind of hold it. Push the inner fenders inside the fascia. Put these two clips back on. Then underneath, just push this up so it goes in here. I'm just going to fast forward here as I put three of the clips back in the bottom and also reinstall the two Phillips screws that hold the cover to the inner fenders in the corners. Keep that speed and momentum going as I reinstall the two 8mm bolts that hold each corner of the bumper cover up over the front wheels. Here it is all back together. We did add a new set of headlights which really makes it pop.
