Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to remove a front door panel on this 2006 Cadillac CTS. It's the same as any 2003 to 2007. The only tools you'll need are a Phillips screwdriver and some type of flat bladed tool. I use a putty knife, and I also use either a rag or paper towel to put over the knife to make sure that I don't scratch up the interior.
I use an old household putty knife. Take a paper towel and just kind of wrap it. Then, you got to kind of put it up in underneath, pry it up, and pull out on this handle. Then, up in here, pry it up, pull out. It comes out.
Behind here, there's a little tab. Just pull up on that tab and pull the lock connector. Make sure to leave it unlocked. Pull that off and then this bezel just comes right off. Still, using the very corner, right here on your lock button, pry up very lightly. This whole thing comes right up and off.
Then, again, carefully, there's a little plug right in behind your door pull here inside that plug: two Phillips screws. We'll speed it up here as we're just removing those two Phillips screws. Okay, once those screws are out start up here at the top and pull. Work your fingers in behind and just sharply pull and tug. Okay, out and off.
It has line up pins here and down here that go into holes. Okay, so this can kind of just peek through. Line that one up there, line that one up there. Push the top on and they clip on. Make sure you look down. You can see the connector going together.
Now, put in our two Phillips screws. Again, we'll fast-forward just to kind of speed through putting those screws in. You want to get them tight. They don't have to be extremely tight, but you want them nice and firm so they hold the door panel in place well. This plate, just put it back in and push it into place. This panel back on your door handle. Reconnect your lock switch.
We're just going to put it back into place. Box in. Last but not least, your lock button. Put it down until that touches there and then push in the lock.
