How to replace a broken, damaged or burnt out fog light bulb to the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 Volkswagen GTI
Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
For this procedure it is not necessary to take the wheel off although for video purposes we chose to take it off to make it easier. You can turn the wheel to the right or to the left to gain access.
You're going to want to pull this cover off. You can grab underneath here. Pull it out. There's a connector in here. This is for the fog light. There's a lock so you cannot loosen it without taking and disconnecting the connector first. There's a little tab here where you push. Sometimes it's pretty tricky to push. And you can disconnect the connector.
When that's disconnected, grab onto the bulb, rotate counterclockwise and you can pull the bulb out.
When you're reinstalling the bulb you want to make sure you do not touch the glass part of the bulb because the oils of your hands will cause the bulb to burn out faster. Now we're going to reinstall it. Align it into the hole. Then you're going to twist until it locks in.
Then we're going to reconnect the connector until it clicks. Now we're going to reinstall this cover. It goes in here. You're just going to push it in. Lock it in.
