Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to change the fog lights and the light assembly and bulb in this 1997 Dodge Intrepid. It's the same as a '93-'97. The tools you'll need include a Phillips screwdriver and possibly a regular flat blade screwdriver.
To replace the fog lights, or just to change the bulb pretty easy, right under here there's two Phillips screws. Once the screws are out, you can shake it back and forth to pull it out, or you might want to use a flat blade screwdriver to get back in there. The light comes out. The back of it snaps off. One clip right there; another clip right here. You might use a screwdriver since they're a little difficult. Pull that off.
To change the bulb, disconnect this harness here. There's a little wire here. Push down each wire toward the inside to release them. That pulls up, and the bulb pulls out.If you're going to change the entire assembly, right back here is the plug. I'm not sure if you can see it, but there's a little clip. Pull it off to disconnect it.
Obviously, you need to put the bulb back in. The bulb has a square indentation on one side and a round indentation on the other. It lines up with the socket. Put the bulb in, take your wire retainer, push it down, and lock it in place. Then you would obviously reconnect the bulb here.
Put your cover back on. Here's a new light from 1A Auto. See the old one? The new one is nice, bright, and clear. A lot of the times, these get wiped out by rocks and what not. Put the new one from 1A in. The terminal's the same. Reach right in and plug it in. You just want to make sure it's locked. Again, place it in. I'll fast-forward real quick as I put those two Phillips screws back in. You might have to push the light in a little bit, get the holes to line up, and start the screws. Once you've done that, you should be all set.
