Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the evap purge valve on this 2002 Suzuki XL-7. The only tools you'll need for this are a pair of pliers and a 10mm socket and ratchet.

Your evap purge valve is located right here. You want to use a flat blade screwdriver and just pry out on the tab on the harness, and then pull it free. Then, using a pair of pliers, you want to push the teeth on these hose clamps together and slide it up the hose. Then pull those hoses free. Next, remove the two 10mm bolts; there's one on either side. You just loosen that with the ratchet and you can remove it the rest of the way by hand.

Take your new one, put it into place and replace that bolt by hand. Then, line it up and replace the other bolt. Then, tighten both of those up with your socket and ratchet, reconnect those two hoses, and, using a pair of pliers, push the teeth together, and slide those hose clamps back down. Reconnect the harness and you're all set.
