In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the evap canister purge valve on this 2000 Nissan Altima with the 2.4 liter engine. It's the same part and process on these from '97 to 2001. The items you'll need for this are a small flat blade screwdriver, a pair of pliers, and a 12mm wrench.
First, we want to disconnect the harness from the purge valve. You just push in on this tab with the screwdriver and pull it free. On the back of it, there's a 12mm nut. Just go ahead and remove that. Once you break it free you can just loosen it up and remove it by hand. Now use a pair of pliers to slide back the hose clamps. Then, using your small flat blade screwdriver, you just want to pry those hoses off. You want to be careful not to damage the hose.
Now, take your new canister purge valve and put into place, and replace the 12mm nut on the back. Then use your wrench to tighten it. Then you want to put those hoses back into place, and using your pliers, slide those hose clamps forward. Then reconnect your harness and you're all set.
