Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we show you how to replace the rear engine mount on this 2005 Hyundai Elantra with a 2.0 liter, pretty much the same as any 2001-2006 Elantra. You'll need a jack and jack stands.
You'll need to raise up and support the car, and then also support the engine lightly. And then you'll need a 14 millimeter socket and ratchet as well as a 14 millimeter wrench. It's actually a pretty easy operation once you have the car up on jack stands.
Your rear lower motor mount is on the back side of the transmission. You want to support the transmission just slightly, right next to the mount itself. And then locate your one, two, three, four mounting bolts. And those are 14 millimeters.
It's not that big of a mystery, just need to know where it is and how you get to it. Use jack and jack stands, 14 millimeter socket and ratchet, and a 14 millimeter wrench. Remove the bolts, and the mount comes down, and then you can put a new mount up in its place. As you can see our original mount is in fine shape, so we're just taking this apart and putting it back together to show you.
Now I'm putting the motor mount back up in. I put my four bolts back in loosely before I go and tighten it in. With that done, I'll tighten back up. With everything tight I can remove my jack, pull it out of the way.
