In this video, we show you how to service an engine air filter on this 2000 Olds Alero with a 2.4-liter twin cam. Pretty easy operation. You just need a flat blade screwdriver or a Phillips screwdriver.

Okay, on this Alero 2.4-liter, there are four screws: one here, one here, here, and then right down here. These screws loosen, but they don't come all the way out. I'm just going to speed it up here as I loosen those screws. You can see I kind of pull up every once in a while just to see if the screws are all the way out. Okay, then pull that out. The filter comes out.

This one looks a little dirty. It's not too bad. Looking in between the rifts, there's really not a whole lot of dirt so this is okay. Generally you want to replace your filter maybe probably about 15,000 miles. Although, if you just drive mostly highway or whatever it may be longer between changes. Put that back in, make sure it's seated in there correctly. Press down, and make sure we start all of our screws first. I'll speed up the tape here again. Starting the screws all first just make sure everything is lined up correctly. Then you tighten them up nice and firm.
