Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to be working with our 1998 Toyota Camry 2.2-liter 4-cylinder. Today, we're going to show you how to check out your air filter, the kind of stuff you should be looking for. If it's bad, we're going to show you how to replace it.
Open the hood and secure the hood prop. Undo the clips on the top of the air box. Lift up and remove the air filter.
Here we have our old part that we removed from the vehicle. You can see the old air filter. It's all filled up with dirt and debris; this restricts air flow. Your vehicle is basically a giant air pump. The more air you get in an out, the better it's going to run. Having this restriction is going to cause the vehicle to lose a little bit of power and run less efficiently. This new air filter is a simple piece of maintenance that can really bring your car back to life.
Take our new air filter, and slide it into the air box. We came out of the hinges in the bottom there, so you're going to want to lift up and pop those back in. Push down, reinstall the latches, and you're good to go.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.
